Terms of Service — Membership, In-Person Musical Concerts & Communications

Last Updated: February 25, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern membership registration, participation in Layyasaaram events, and use of our website and communications channels. By completing the membership form, purchasing a ticket, or attending a Layyasaaram event, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Membership

1.1 Free Membership

Layyasaaram offers free membership to anyone who wishes to stay connected with our community. There is no fee to become a member.

1.2 Who Can Join

Membership is open to anyone interested in Indian classical music and arts — students, performers, parents, patrons, and enthusiasts are all welcome.

1.3 What Membership Includes

Members receive:

  • Updates about upcoming concerts, workshops, and community programs
  • Invitations to Layyasaaram events
  • Access to the layyasaaram_events mailing list (upon confirmation)
  • Communications via your preferred channel — email, SMS, or WhatsApp — based on your opt-in preferences at the time of registration

1.4 How to Join

Membership is completed through our online form at layyasaaram.org. Submitting the form constitutes agreement to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1.5 Google Group Subscription

Upon signup, members receive a welcome email with a one-click link to join the layyasaaram_events Google Group mailing list. Subscription is confirmed only after the member completes Google’s confirmation step, ensuring explicit consent.

1.6 Communications

By becoming a member, you may receive communications from Layyasaaram by email, SMS, or WhatsApp based on the preferences you select during registration. The collection, use, and protection of your contact information and the terms governing those communications — including opt-in consent, opt-out instructions, and TCPA compliance — are governed by our Privacy Policy.

1.7 Updating or Cancelling Membership

Members may update their preferences or request removal from our records at any time by contacting info@layyasaaram.org.

2. Ticket Purchases & Event Attendance

2.1 Ticket Availability

Most Layyasaaram events are free to the public. When tickets are required, they may be purchased through third-party ticketing platforms. All fees including service charges and platform fees will be clearly displayed at checkout.

2.2 Refunds & Cancellations

All ticket sales are final unless an event is canceled or rescheduled. In the case of cancellation, Layyasaaram will offer refunds or credits in accordance with the policies of the ticketing platform used.

2.3 Event Entry

A valid ticket may be required for entry to certain events. Late arrivals may be seated at an appropriate break to avoid disrupting performers. Re-entry policies vary by venue.

2.4 Event Changes

Performers, venues, seating layouts, and schedules may change. Layyasaaram will make reasonable efforts to notify ticket holders and members of significant changes.

3. Code of Conduct

Layyasaaram is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and culturally enriching environment. All members, attendees, and participants agree to:

  • Treat performers, volunteers, staff, and fellow attendees with respect
  • Avoid disruptive behavior including excessive noise or mobile device use during performances
  • Follow all venue rules and staff instructions
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct of any kind

3.1 Removal from Events

Layyasaaram reserves the right to remove any attendee — whether a member or a first-time guest — from an event for failure to comply with these Terms or the Code of Conduct above. Removal may be carried out by Layyasaaram staff, volunteers, venue security, or law enforcement as appropriate. No refund will be issued in such cases. Repeated violations may result in being denied entry to future Layyasaaram events.

3.2 Law Enforcement & Legal Compliance

Layyasaaram complies with all applicable laws and venue regulations, including fire codes and occupancy limits. Any behavior that constitutes a criminal act, creates a safety hazard, or violates applicable law may result in immediate removal from the event and referral to law enforcement.

3.3 Weapons Policy

Layyasaaram events are weapon-free. Firearms, weapons of any kind, and any items that could be used to threaten or harm others are strictly prohibited at all Layyasaaram events, regardless of whether the individual holds a valid permit or license. Violation of this policy will result in immediate removal from the event and may be reported to law enforcement.

4. Photography, Audio & Video Recording

  • Unless explicitly permitted, audio or video recording of performances is prohibited
  • Flash photography is not permitted during concerts
  • Layyasaaram may record or photograph events for archival or promotional purposes. Attendance at an event or completion of the membership form constitutes consent to appear in such media

5. Health & Safety

Attendees must comply with all venue safety rules and any applicable public health guidelines in effect at the time of the event. Layyasaaram may implement additional safety measures when necessary. Anyone exhibiting unsafe behavior may be denied entry or removed from an event.

6. Accessibility

Layyasaaram is committed to making events accessible to all. Requests for accommodations should be made in advance by contacting info@layyasaaram.org.

7. Third-Party Services

Layyasaaram uses third-party platforms for ticketing, email distribution, SMS and WhatsApp communications, and payment processing. These platforms operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Layyasaaram is not responsible for outages, errors, or data incidents arising from third-party systems.

8. Liability

Layyasaaram takes reasonable care to ensure our events are safe, welcoming, and well-organized. While we work closely with our venues to maintain a secure environment, attendees are encouraged to take care of their personal belongings and be mindful of their surroundings. Layyasaaram is not liable for personal injury, lost or stolen items, or property damage that is not directly caused by organizational negligence. Individual venues may have their own rules and safety guidelines that apply during events.

8.1 Food, Allergies & Alcohol

Some Layyasaaram events may include food or refreshments. While we make every effort to be mindful of common dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that food served at our events is free from allergens including nuts, dairy, gluten, or other common allergens. Attendees with known food allergies or dietary restrictions are encouraged to inquire in advance by contacting info@layyasaaram.org. Layyasaaram is not liable for allergic reactions or dietary concerns arising from food consumed at our events. All Layyasaaram events are alcohol-free.

9. Data & Privacy

The collection, use, and protection of all personal information submitted through our membership form or collected through our communications channels is governed exclusively by our Privacy Policy.

10. Children’s Privacy

Layyasaaram does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our membership form, please contact us at info@layyasaaram.org so we can remove it promptly.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any disputes arising from membership or event participation will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Minnesota.
